The Artisphere Ballroom played host to an informal panel discussion on creative direction featuring some of the best and brightest in the world of design. David Robinson of AOL, Jill Spaeth of Citizen Creative and Zach Goodwin of iStrategyLabs shared their respective insights on a number of design-related challenges such as managing a team of creatives, the process of usability testing, the rules of brainstorming, and techniques on how to keep both clients and end users happy.
An overall theme of the session was that good creative designers do not bring their egos to the table when working as a team. This philosophy was put into practice during the session as design professionals in the audience were invited onstage to join the featured speakers and contribute to the overall conversation. This unconventional panel structure gave the audience an interesting glimpse into the process of effective creative direction from the perspectives of those actively working in the field.
